Spring Bank Primary School in Headingley has become the latest school to join the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust.

Spring Bank Primary School is a well-established primary school in the heart of its community. Spring Bank Primary is an inclusive school which fosters a happy and safe environment full of learning, fun and friendship. Their staff team is led by the Head of School, Mr Jordan License, and Executive Headteacher, Mr Jonathan Parker.

With just over 170 pupils across 7 classes, Spring Bank Primary School is the 6th primary school to join the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust, joining Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School, Pudsey Waterloo Primary School, Calverley Parkside Primary School, Armley Park Primary School, and Manor Wood Primary School.

Rachel Muers, Chair of Governors, said “We are very pleased to be joining the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust. We believe that Owlcotes’ values as a Trust align with our own values as a school community, and we really appreciate Owlcotes’ commitment to working collaboratively and to putting the children at the heart of everything we do. We’re excited about the next steps in the school’s journey”.

Mrs Lesley West, CEO of the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust, said “Spring Bank Primary School is a fantastic school with a commitment to achieving the best for its pupils and the school community. We are so pleased to welcome them to the Owlcotes family. Owlcotes was founded back in 2018 with a genuine desire to provide excellent education for pupils. I have no doubt that Spring Bank will fit in perfectly and be a valuable addition to our family of schools”.

Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust was established in March 2018 by its two founding primary schools, Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School and Pudsey Waterloo Primary School, with the aim of developing a collaborative approach to school improvement, and a commitment to working closely with all schools in the trust. Collaboration is at the heart of the Trust; each school is an equal partner and the dedicated staff are committed to providing an inclusive and ambitious curriculum for all of our pupils. Owlcotes firmly believe in schools having their own individuality which enables schools to focus on the key priorities of teaching and learning that are specific to their own school and communities.

Mr Jordan License said “To celebrate this new chapter in Spring Bank’s history, we are organising a special whole-school  visit to the Hyde Park Picture House to learn about the history of film and projection, and later in the term all the pupils will be able to enjoy a performance of Alice in Wonderland by a visiting theatre company. We’re looking forward to many more adventures ahead!”
